[June 3rd, 2008]
I'd seen the boys before, plenty of times. Sometimes they were walking around town, other times in my neighbor's yard. Occasionally, they were in my yard, but always left when I got out of the car.
They were about 17 and 9, both with extremely pale skin and expressionless faces.
When they got closer, Samantha felt something surround her. A sort of, scary atmosphere. Every nerve in her body was twitching, telling her to just run.
"Hello." the older boy said, as he approached Samantha. "Can we use your phone? We asked the neighbor's and they said no."
Samantha studied his face. There was something wrong. She was about to say "yes," when she realized what it was. The boy's eyes were completely black. No sign of pupil, iris or anything. Samantha's whole body shuddered. They emanted a dark, ominous feeling. Samantha's body was telling her to move, but she couldn't. The eyes were drawing her in.
Again, the instinct took over. It was primal, it was something she had never felt. But she new exactly what it was, the feeling of being hunted. She was the prey, and she was around her predator. She quickly uttered a "no" and walked up the stairs and into her house. Slamming the door behind her.
She threw herself on the sofa and breathed. What was that? she asked herself. The feeling was gone, but it was surrounding the house. It was evil, pure, absolute evil. It drew her in, and when she looked back on it, it dulled her sentences.
The little boy walked up onto the porch and knocked on the door. Samantha looked at it with horror. She ignored it, not leaving the safety of her sofa.
The little boy walked over to the window and peered in. "Please Miss, we won't hurt you. We don't have anything to hurt you with." Samantha listened. His voice was monotone, and free of any type of accent. It was like he was programmed to speak English. "Please Miss? We really need to use your phone." He insisted. "We can't come in unless you invite us." the little boy added.
After a few minutes of insisting on coming inside, the little boy walked away.
An hour later, Samantha got up and looked out her front window. The boys were standing there, surprisingly, showing emotion. But it was one of fury.
